Hello, I'm Dr. David Graybill...

I'm a Technical Director with a career spanning two decades and a performing arts career spanning three. I hold a Ph.D in Shakespeare Studies from The University of Birmingham (UK) and The Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. I have a Master of the Arts degree in Educational Theatre from NYU/ Steinhardt and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from NYU/ Tisch School of the Arts. I love teaching and I love the opportunities that Educational Theatre brings.

After years in the professional world working for companies like Peter, Paul, and Mary, Paramount Pictures, The Oakland Ballet, Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and teaching at institutions like the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Oakland School for the Arts, Wildwood School in Los Angeles, and Scarsdale High School in New York, I'm leading a technical-theater-in-education consultancy. We support performing arts educators and departments by making the technical and behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre manageable and accessible to both teachers and students.

I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to join theatre, not only the actors, the dancers, or the singers, but also the people who love creating worlds through light, shaping a stage with lumber and metal, crafting soundscapes or manifesting a character through clothing.
